See, here’s the problem. Many believe that the best blogs are the ones that are focused on one particular subject/idea/craft/sport/what-have-you, but focusing on just one thing has never been my strong suit. In high school I used to sit in front of the TV to do my homework; I am rarely known to just sit and talk on the phone without doing dishes, stretching or sweeping; and I don’t remember the last movie I watched without yarn and needles in my hands or my laptop open in front of me. I simply don’t do one thing at a time. It doesn’t work for me. And so here, I find myself wondering if I should write about my love of running (despite being not very good at it), my teaching [mis]adventures, the creative and not overly pattern-oriented knitting I do, or my new but semi-all-consuming dog friend.

I could probably give an over-arching category along the lines of “My Nerdy But Wonderful Life” and go from there…

I’m grateful that today is a running rest day. It’s cold and snowing big, wet flakes of winter miserable, when it should be warm and blossomy. Let’s hope this is the final farewell of Old Man winter…
